The next phase of Raising the Bar will provide no-cost technical assistance to health systems to implement the project’s framework.
Raising the Bar: Healthcare’s Transforming Role
The National Alliance to Impact the Social Determinants of Health (NASDOH), a multistakeholder alliance housed within Leavitt Partners, is identifying health systems for a project supporting the design, recruitment, and implementation of the RTB framework. As the lead developer of the framework, NASDOH will use their expertise to help facilitate healthcare system adoption and provide guidance related to organizational buy-in, accountability, and impact to health equity. NASDOH will select five health systems to participate in a one-year technical assistance program that includes RTB onboarding, plan of action development, and customized virtual and in-person support from project coaches and field experts from Health Management Associates. At the conclusion of the program, NASDOH will develop public-facing shared learnings.
The New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute (NJHCQI) aims to improve birth equity by working with hospitals and the communities they serve. NJHCQI will collaborate with Ariadne Labs and consult with the National Partnership for Women and Families. For two years, NJHCQI will work with two hospital systems to establish Perinatal Community Advisory Boards and engage them in improving care to increase equity.
The Healthcare Anchor Network (HAN) will engage its 70+ member healthcare systems in their roles as employers, purchasers, investors, and community partners. HAN will partner with other Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grantees to guide healthcare systems to employ and cultivate a representative workforce at all levels, leverage procurement to ensure diversity and wellbeing of contract workers, and respect and build on the expertise and power of individuals and organizations in the community.
